Identifying the lessons needed to keep the US System
from falling as hard as the British Empire did.

The British Empire was a lot more important than most recognize. Its propagandists, 100 years ago and today, like to pretend that it was just one among many competing empires. This book shows that in fact, it was the first of only two countries that has managed to run the entire world. The United States is the second. The British Empire died in the flames of the two world wars its mistakes created. This book tries to identify the lessons we need to keep the US Empire from ending the same way.

Excellent Read

Reading a book that's both this clear and this revelatory is always refreshing. It's clear Mr. Morris has done the research. Personally, I have looked forward to this book since I discovered his YouTube channel (MoFreedomFoundation) a few years ago. Although there are a few points that made me angry, the clarity with which he lays out his arguments always added to my understanding. Overall Morris has written a remarkably well researched story that we Americans should do our best to avoid.

The analysis that's missing from today's news

Morris has really accomplished something here. The author sets out to tell the history of two empires, but in the process he makes a searing case for looking at the whole world quite differently. In telling the story of the US and British world systems he has written a new and very plausible history of the past 200 years. Is the world really an atomized one, with history driven by competing empires and superpowers? Not as much as we’ve been lead to believe. Are globalization, industrialization and commercialization merely impersonal forces that just sort of happened? I think the author has unique answers to these questions...

Rob Morris isn't really an expert in anything. But he loves him some history. He is an attorney, but now works full time making short films that explain this delightful world of ours. His broad base of knowledge helps him ask questions that other people don't.
